Kota Kinabalu Islamic High School (''Malay: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Kota Kinabalu'') (SMKAKK) is an Islamic schools in Kota Kinabalu. == History == The school was name in conjunction with the name of the location of this school. This name was chosen by the first school principal, Haidon Hadi Sapiri, in 1990. With the school establishment, the number of Islamic high school was added in Sabah. The school was located at Bukit Padang. The building was originally the site of the Sabah Campus of National University of Malaysia that was established in 1979. Then, it moved to Menggatal. The school was situated 4 kilometers from the state capital of Kota Kinabalu. The school was established on first December 1990. The school establishment intended by the Sabah Education Director in order to increase the number of religious schools in the state. The founders of the school is 12, headed by Haidon Hadi Sapiri as the Founder Principal, his deputy, Adenan Hussin, Mohd. Rozaimi Abdul Razak, A. Ismail, Anuar Jasimin, Melih Bidin, Mahyani Simih, Azlan Sukir, Wan Jah Hasbullah, Zaharah Bani Yamin, Rosnani Harun, Noor Husnah Abdullah and Nasif Kasim as the clerk. The school registration begins on January 1, 1991. The first generation of the school is 205 students from 4 classes of Form One and 3 classes of Form Four.
